Our founding fathers recognized universal truths as applying to all of mankind regardless of religion. That is why the Declaration of Independence says that you have inalienable rights granted to you by your creator. That is a universal truth. In order to preserve those rights, they created a document limited to universal truths. Those universal truths were found in the Scripture. Man has never found through rationalization or empiricism a universal truth, those are found in the Scripture. There are three methods of perception for mankind. They are rationalism, empiricism, and faith. Our nation was built upon faith and that faith was contained in universal truths. When we stop borrowing, we are going to have to go back to our faith in universal truths. We will have discovered that our rationalism and our empiricism have not solved our problems.

The founding fathers of the United States Government built our government on universal truths. Our Constitution is filled with universal truths straight out of the Holy Scripture. (See below) Using those universal truths, the founding fathers carefully established the role of government in this country. Although it is clear, over the two hundred and twenty four years since the Constitution was adopted this country has dismissed the original role of government established by our founders. We have become a country dependent on borrowing, a sense of entitlement, and huge bureaucracy. In this process we have defied universal truths and our country is paying the price. We must change.

The most polarizing issue we face today as Americans is our national debt. At the present moment, the United States owes approximately fourteen trillion dollars ($14,000,000,000,000). The Holy Scripture clearly states the Lord's view on debt by a sovereign nation in

Deuteronomy 15:6

For the LORD thy GOD blesseth thee as He promised thee; and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.

Our government has to make a major change. The solution to this problem is found in the Scripture and it is a universal truth. It is clear our country should not borrow money from others. Many Americans will ask the question, “What happens when we stop borrowing money? How will it affect our lives?"

If policy makers followed universal truths and stopped the United States from borrowing money our country would change. The role of the Federal government would be redefined. The government would be limited in its actions. The government would have to shrink. This change would bring our government back toward the universal truths our founding fathers established in 1787. Our government would exist within the universal truths of the Holy Scripture. These universal truths would define the role of government.

We must establish that we are to obey both civil and criminal laws of our government. Jesus obeyed the laws. This is a universal truth. We must pay our taxes, obey immigration laws etc.

2Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of GOD, and those who resist shall receive for themselves damnation. 3For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same,
4for he is the minister of GOD to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid, for he beareth not the sword in vain; for he is the minister of GOD, an avenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5Therefore ye must be subject not only for wrath, but also for conscience' sake. 6For, for this cause pay ye tribute also, for they are GOD's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. 7Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due, custom to whom custom, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor. (Romans 13:2-7)

The government's role, according to Scripture, is to provide security and order to its people.

1Timothy 2:1-2

1. I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,

2. for kings and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Deuteronomy 1:15, “So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.”

Numbers 31:48-49, “And the officers which were over thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near unto Moses: And they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war which are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us.”

Our government is also be responsible for establishing borders for our country. Establishing permanent borders for our country is very important for national security. The Constitution delegates immigration to the Federal government. Immigrants who come to America will be subject to our government.

Romans 13: 1-7, Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from GOD, and those that exist have been instituted by GOD. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what GOD has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is GOD's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of GOD, an avenger who carries out GOD's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid GOD's wrath but also for the sake of conscience...

We must also welcome immigrants to our nation as the Lord states in Leviticus 19:33-34

33And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. 34But the stranger who dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself, for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your GOD.

Presently the Federal government puts the social security money in the general fund for appropriations. It is not put in a special trust. The allocation of Social Security should change in the future. As it stands, the government is stealing money from social security in order to finance the general operation of government.

The Eighth Commandment, in Exodus 20:15 clearly states, “you shall not steal."

Our government is stealing from our social security deposits and funding the general appropriations of government.

Jesus himself paid taxes. If Jesus paid taxes, everyone should pay taxes. If Jesus paid taxes then all must contribute in some way to support the government through taxes. Jesus was not employed nor was he a wealthy person.

Matthew 17:24-27 "Jesus said When they came to Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax went up to Peter and said, “Does your teacher not pay the tax?" He said, “Yes." And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth take toll or tax? From their sons or from others?" And when he said, “From others," Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free. However, not to give offense to them, go to the sea and cast a hook and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel. Take that and give it to them for me and for yourself."

Everyone should pay taxes. If you do not pay your taxes you are in direct defiance of GOD as seen in

Romans 13:2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what GOD has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment."

The Progressive head tax must be eliminated. It is a respecter of persons as it taxes one group heavily and others none at all. It is against scripture because it is a respecter of persons. Even Jesus, who owned no property and for all we know was unemployed, paid tax. By paying your taxes you are serving God's purposes. You are glorifying GOD by following his word.

Our founding fathers established taxing authority in the Constitution in Article 1 Section 8, "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States." The Supreme Court declared the first income tax as unconstitutional but in 1913 the United States amended the constitution and changed the head tax prohibition. Now we have a progressive income tax.

Does it meet the universal truth standard? Not according to any reasonable intrepretation of universal truth. Government is not to be a respector of persons. Every Federal Judge takes an oath to not be a respector of persons. His oath is taken in part from scripture. Our tax system should not be a respector of persons. Everyone should be required to pay tax. The poor cannot pay as much as the rich but they must pay something. 40% of the population does not pay tax. That fails the uiversal truth test.

Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, of a truth I perceive that GOD is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth Him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with Him.

While GOD created all of us in his image, no two people are exactly alike. We are all different in our own way. As no two people are alike, people do not all achieve the same things in this country. Some people are more qualified than others in this country. The practice of affirmative action is fundamentally evil. To punish someone who is properly qualified for something by awarding it to someone else with lesser qualifications based upon race, religion, or gender is evil. Our country practices this injustice everyday. Affirmative action has no place in this countries future. Our government cannot be a respecter of persons because the Lord is not a respecter of persons as seen in

Acts 10:34 "Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons

This practice goes against the Lord's word that if you work hard you will be rewarded as seen in Proverbs 10:4

He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand, but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

Racism is evil and cannot be tolerated. We are all of same spirit, created by GOD in his image as stated in Genesis 1:27

So GOD created man in his own image, in the image of GOD he created him; male and female he created them.

Discrimination based upon race, gender, religion, or sexual preference is evil and must be against the law. Our guide in these matters should not be bureaucrats, but the universal truths in the scripture. Our free enterprise economy must be free for all to enter.

After we stop borrowing, public education can remain fundamentally the same. The schools will still be state funded schools. The major change could be the end of Federal intervention or regulation of education. The states will best decide the curriculum for the students.

As Americans, we have developed a sense of entitlement in this country. This is a fundamental problem in our society. When we stop borrowing money, entitlement programs such as affirmative action and social programs will be cut. This country will not have the ability to afford them. We handicap ourselves and our future by teaching the youth of this nation they are entitled to something. The idea you can receive a check for doing nothing is a major problem in our country.

Proverbs 10:4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand, but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

You earn the material goods you receive in this country. We have to establish the character trait of hard work back into America for our nation to prosper once again.
